:Kinema: were recently asked to add a sprinkling of their disco dust to the new single ‘They Are Coming’ from the wonderful Husky Rescue.
The result is an epic piano led slice of space disco, that you can check out on Soundcloud and buy now from iTunes.

This Saturday Brighton’s finest disco pop sensations :Kinema: will be back in London to play at Camden clubbing institution Be, alongside 2 Hot 2 Sweat and Robot Dancing Music. Now it’s normally £10 to get in, but drop us an email before Friday and we’ll put you on the concessions list, in fact as an added bonus the first 2 people to email in can get in for free.

A couple of months ago we asked one of my favourite producers Secondo to have a crack at remixing :Kinema:’s Circles, he obliged, turned in a couple of amazing house remixes and we gave them out to blogs. It’s only today that I realised we never put them up here, so whilst I’m pottering around doing some admin I figured I would add the remixes to the release page as free downloads. Isn’t that nice.
Get your Secondo remixes here.

So today you the great record buying public of the world can finally get your mitts on our third 7″, Circles by :Kinema:. Pressed on sunshine yellow vinyl, the release is a glorious pop moment described by The Guardian as “up there with the Phoenix of If I Ever Feel Better”.
On the b-side you get the wonderfully smooth remix of Lets Get To It from Hot Chip’s drummer and pop sensation in his own right, Grovesnor. The full digital EP will be out in a couple of week, complete with the original of Lets Get To It and the Line remix of Circles.
Buy now from our own online shop.

After a slight delay we’re proud to announce that :Kinema:’s Recreation / My Girls is finally available in your favourite digital emporium. The Brighton trio’s debut release features two of the band’s live favourites, Recreation, a slow burning slice of South coast electro-soul and the band’s inspired disco pop take on Animal Collective’s My Girls.
As The Guardian so poetically put it, this is music to ‘Take you to the edge of heaven’.
Available now from iTunes, Juno Download, eMusic, Play, 7 Digital and I’d imagine quite a few other places.

This Saturday whilst :Kinema: are entertaining the bowlers in Bloomsbury, Shock Defeat! will be taking to the stage in Camden at Be alongside Thomas White and Housewives. Whilst any Shock Defeat! gig normally mean a bonus payday for London’s instrument repairmen you too can profit as we’re offering you the chance to get on the band’s concessions guestlist. Isn’t that nice.
Drop us a line here before midday on Saturday and we’ll put you on the £6 list.

If you’re in London this week you have a few chances to catch :Kinema:, if you want to go tenpin bowling whilst dancing to :Kinema: though you have just one chance. Sounds good then this Saturday slip into a nice warm pair of bowling shoes and try to avoid repeating whole chunks of the Big Lebowski at We, Like You at the Bloomsbury Lanes.
As an added bonus you can score some cheap tickets here, though be warned they’ll be gone soon.

When not smoothly rocking out on his keytar, :Kinema:’s Ross Flight also likes to indulge in a spot of Skweee. No not some strange sexual perversion but the curious lo-fi, insanely funky, Scandinavian strain of electro that has been kicking around the past couple of years.
Recording as Boss Kite, he made a bit of a splash earlier this year when he gave away a free EP of his tunes and The Quietus have just interviewed him about his music. Go read the whole thing here and then have a listen to :Kinema:’s stupidly good vocal edit of Skweee star Beem’s track Manka over here.

Hopefully having rebuilt their shattered instruments after last Saturday’s bruising show, Shock Defeat! are back in action tonight at the Best Laid Plans night at The Queen of Hoxton. Playing alongside them will be Cats In Paris, Hook and the Twin, The Welcome Committee and as many DJs as you can shake a stick at, all in all it looks like a fun night. Go cheer on our boys and grab a 7″ off them.
If you’re quick you can still buy cheap advance tickets from here. Go what are you waiting for!

With just a few days to go before Recreation/My Girls hits iTunes’ virtual shelves Dom from :Kinema: spoke at length to Amelia’s Magazine about the joy of pop, sex and sexy pop.
It’s an epic read so put the kettle on, get comfy on the sofa and check the whole thing here.
